The Reserve Bank announced that Auckland investment (not owner occupied) properties will need a 30% deposit as from October 1st 2015.
This will put rentals under pressure to still produce an acceptable return on investment. The opportunity this ruling poses might spur investors to move further afield in finding investment properties without this restriction.
It might urge Auckland vendors to come to the market within the next few weeks to avoid the deadline. It also open doors to the south to invite investors to see what’s on offer down Hamilton way.
